My stress level has been quite high recently so I decided to take a bit of a break by going on a staycation. I decided to book a room at Dusit Thani in Makati because of its convenience, being right next to SM Makati, One Ayala, and Glorietta.
Staycations in good hotels are always a good idea for me (albeit an expensive one) because I find them very comforting and relaxing. My room was quite spacious and it faced Park Square so I could see a bit of Glorietta and a bit of San Lorenzo Village.
My bathroom had a shower area with no bathtub, which was perfectly okay with me since I don't really use bathtubs.
As mentioned, Dusit Thani has a great location, making it easy to get food and drinks and buy any other stuff you need. (SM Supermarket is right next door.) It is also one of the more inexpensive 5-star hotels in Makati. Parking was quite easy when I arrived, with many slots still available. Water in the room is served in a pitcher and you can ask for more water if needed. It's the hotel's way to be more sustainable and generate less waste and I'm all for it. I really do love it when hotels put in efforts to reduce their carbon footprint.
The hotel has a lush lobby with gold columns and elegant chandeliers that give a sense of luxury and grandeur. At one end of the lobby is a brightly colored tuktuk that adds a lot of personality to the space and serves as a popular photo op for guests, especially kids. Having this tuktuk in the lobby is a great touch because Dusit Thani is a Thai hotel chain.
Buffet breakfast is served at the Pantry restaurant. I didn't take a picture but they had a proper taho set-up during breakfast which I thought was cool.
I didn't really do much when I was there. I just chilled, watched TV, and enjoyed the comforts of being in a nice big room and sort of away from it all (even if I was still in Manila). Dusit Thani really is a good option if you are looking for a 5-star hotel in Makati.
