[Argentina] Museo Del Filete in Buenos Aires

After our half-day tour of Buenos Aires, my mom and I decided to have lunch somewhere between our hotel and Florida Street where we would do our souvenir shopping. We initially went to a place nearby that had a high customer rating based on online reviews but there were too many people when we got there and the waiters had their hands full. We waited for a few minutes to be served but we felt it might just be better to look for a less crowded restaurant. It was then that we chanced upon Museo del Filete.

We noticed this place because there was a sign outside for today's menu (menu del dia) that was only ARS130 (or about PHP190), which was pretty cheap in Argentina. It was in fact a lot cheaper than the place where we attempted to have lunch and the place where we had lunch the day before. We decided to go in.

As it turns out, the featured price of ARS130 was not just for today's menu but it also applied to the other main course items. I ended up getting a milanese dish (can't recall if it was pork or veal or something else) while my mom had fish. Not only were our meals very affordable, the portion size was also pretty good. (Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the set meal and of the dessert I had.)

The service was friendly and professional and because the place is not too big and there is decent space between tables, the atmosphere is relaxing. A musician was playing the piano while we dined. My mom thought he might have Filipino roots because he played a lot of ballads that are popular in the Philippines but we didn't ask him if he was indeed from the Philippines.

Museo del Filete is next to Museo de la Ciudad (or Museum of the City) and entrance to this museum is free but we weren't able to check it out anymore. If you are looking for an affordable restaurant with good food and wonderful service, this is the place for you.
