Staycation at New World Makati Hotel

My stress level recently has been quite high so I felt it was time to have another staycation this year. I decided to book a room in New World Makati Hotel because it had been such a long time since I last stayed here and I like New World.

As is true with many of the good hotels in Makati, the room is quite spacious and comfortable. I believe I got a superior room and I selected one with a big bed (although I believe you can choose one with two smaller beds). My room also had a small couch in the corner, providing extra seating.

The bathroom is good too, with a separate shower and bathtub area which I think is better.

Shower and toilet

Taking a shower in a bathtub always feels a bit - a lot? - dangerous because it can get slippery and the base is not flat, making it harder to maintain balance while you are standing in it.

Since Christmas is around the corner, the lobby was very festively decorated.

Aside from the very tall Christmas tree at the center of the lobby, there was also a quaint gingerbread house at the elevator area.

The lighting outside the hotel was also pretty awesome. I got to appreciate it as I headed to Greenbelt for dinner.

My stress level at work has been noticeably higher in 2026, which has led me to take two staycations in the same year and in two different hotels. It's a bit of an expensive way to unwind and recharge but I do like staying at really good hotel rooms and it allowed me to destress so I feel it was money well spent.
